Ok fellas, I dont need this information but I feel that it is a vital piece of information we need to have back on the forum. I havent seen it posted in the mods and upgrades section or in here. A buddy back home (dankman on the OG) had put together some really thorough posts on cleaning the 98 and A5, also somebody had a SUPER post for polishing the internals. I know we have a cleaning how-to currently, but where is the How-to for polishing the internals? Somebody out there has to have this information or can put it together. I would but I am digi less (no camera). So who will take the challenge?

Here's something Silencer wrote up in an internals thread from the old forum. Hope it helps....
After carefully reviewing this thread and weighing in all the options and opinions that all of you have given I have determined a way of polishing the internals that is completely safe and abides to the rules you have established in this thread...
Really this idea is a combination of Zapoconj's comments and those of Pac Man. So, let me first thank you both.
After examining my A-5's internals and the way they work you can really see the value in what Pac Man stated earlier in the thread...There is NO NEED to polish all the internals, just the areas the rear and front bolt slide around in.
In addition, sanding the internals is just plain risky. There is too much room for error there and I don't think it is the safe way to polish. This is where Zapconj's idea of paint stripper comes in.
Therefore, here is a sort of Frankenstein'd way of polishing your internals SAFELY and wisely...
You will need:
1. Automotive Paint Stripper (spray type, I used Klean Strip "Auto Strip" and it is phenominal). 2. Blue Painter's tape or masking tape. 2. A few soft rags that you can throw away after use. 4. A pair of rubber gloves (eg. dishwashing gloves). 5. Rubbing alcohol 6. Mother's mag polish.
**BEFORE YOU START, I WILL SAY THAT I WONT BE RESPONSIBLE IF YOU DORK UP YOUR MARKER, HURT YOURSELF OR SOMEONE ELSE - DO THIS MOD AT YOUR OWN RISK! PAINT STRIPPER IS AN EXTREMELY DANGEROUS AND CORROSIVE SUBSTANCE - USE IN A WELL VENTILATED AREA AND DONT GET IT ANYWHERE ON YOUR BODY, IT WILL EAT AWAY AT YOUR SKIN OR COULD BLIND YOU OR WORSE!**
Now that that is over let's begin:
1. Disassemble your marker (according to tippmann guidelines).
2. Take a look at the internals and place the power tube/front bolt in one side of either reciever halve.
3. Note the distance behind the power tube that the rear bolt will slide in. Do the same for the front bolt and note where it will be sliding.
4. Use blue painter's tape to tape off every single portion of the A-5 internals that is NOT the area that the front and rear bolt slide in. Make sure to double cover the holes in the right receiver half so no stripper accidentally leaks out.
5. After having taped off those areas, put on your gloves, get out your rag and stripper (PAINT STRIPPER, put the cute girl back in the closet before your wife gets home )
6. Spray a thick thick amount of stripper ON THE RAG ONLY.
7. Proceed to rub out the overspray in ONLY the areas that are left un taped. If you are doing it correctly it will only be the area that the rear and front bolt slide around in. It may take a few passes but the rag will get out the overspray. Reload the rag with stripper and re apply as necessary.
8. After having removed the overspray from both reciever halves use a clean rag to remove any excess stripper the areas cleaned.
9. Remove blue tape. Apply rubbing alcohol to rag and clean off excess mess in area.
10. Apply small amount of Mother's polish to stripped area ONLY using a rag. Rub in until it blackens a bit then use clean portion of rag to rub it off COMPLETELY!!!
11. Re-clean area with rubbing alcohol rag.
12. Apply standard paintball gun oil to polished areas...
13. Re assemble marker and go get some!!!
I hope this will consolidate this thread. It really covers all the bases in the polishing debate and it diplomatically allows you to adhere to a lot of different and really fantastic advice given from all you. Zapconj and Pac Man thanks guys...I wouldn't have been able to do this without you.
HAPPY HUNTING!

Thats a great post apone, but honestly, all I did was take some sand paper, and rub it away until I got a smooth silver area where the main internals lay, lol. It seems to have worked great, its a really smooth surface and has noticable less friction.

Yeah, I know sanding is probably easier but for those who are worried about over doing it this is a little safer. I remember there was some argument over sanding the receiver halves and screwing up the internals somehow. This method was crafted for those who were scared of messing up. Either method is valid, just decide based on your comfort level. Cheers!
