Alright guys I just got my C3 in (# 161) First impressions....I think the C3 looks awesome. The Actual body was a little bit bigger than expected but after owning it for 15 mins its not the bad at all.
The construction is what we expect from Tippmann....its tough.
The accuracy of it is pretty amazing too....Id aim for a tree and hit it, and could do it repeatedly...definitly seems that the barrel was machined to that of an after market barrel.
Now some of the things I didn't like....
Although the pump stroke was smooth, it seems a bit too long. However I'm a newb when it comes to pumps. I'm sure once I get used to the C3 it wont be bad at all.
Also the propane tank I purchased kind of blocks the grip....I got used to it within a minute though...so no real big issue here as well
I had one misfire where I had to re-cock and load in another ball as well....Why they couldn't do the SL anti double feed? No idea....however with 2 balls in the chamber when I shot they actually shot in a very tight group, and accurately hit my target.....Shotgun style shooting? Seems so! ;D
It also didn't come with a hopper....no biggie we all own like 100's of them anyways.
Customizablity doesn't seem to be here however....no rails to mount scopes...the body looks to be one piece, with a couple other pieces jig-sawed into it.
Overall Impression....Im a fan, not just because I spent money on it but because its something you can expect from Tippmann. Also the majority of problems are just comfort issues, and myself being a newb to pump. I really think aside from the customizability that this is an awesome marker....
8 out of 10! ;D

I think they should have put the exhaust in a different location than straight out the back of the marker (and right into your face). I was pretty impressed by the C3 (#125 and #126), and yeah, they are a bulky, meaty marker.

There needs to be an exhaust because the propane is ignited in order to drive the piston which in turn uses air to fire the ball... You cock the marker, loading the piston chamber with propane, when you fire the marker, that propane is lit, causing an explosion which in turn forces the piston to compress the air behind it. Burning the propane produces gasses that must be vented from the marker in order to get the piston back to the starting position...
Seriously, I like that they are looking in new directions, but I think that the downfall of the propane marker will simply be the smell... I don't think many players will be all that eager to lug around a stick-bomb with them everywhere on the field...
It'll go the way of the Factory F/A. Great Idea and Great advance in technology that no body wants until it becomes a collectors item.

You should be able to download smell files onto your PC and send them to your buddies...

Wow..thanks for explaining that Kreeper...so the C3 doesnt use propane gas to fire the paintball..it just makes an explosion that compresses regular air, and that shoots the paintball out...right?

Alright just for you Trigga.....a few pics...not that good...but you get an idea about its size comapared to me. Also I have 2 videos of it....Any hosts? Also I played a few rounds with it today and I dont know if it was just my luck or what but I kept getting a bunch of mis-fires where the propane wouldnt ignite...thus having to recock, reloading another round and trying again....weird thing was once I got eliminated I would cock and shoot with no problems...Is this Murphy? No idea Im going to clean the spark plug and possibly adjust the regulator for a better fuel-air mixture...Also taking the C3 apart is very difficult....lots of screws and such...barrel isnt bad to take apart though...just loosen a screw, pop out a quick strip screw, pull out the slide guide and pull out the barrel...Sounds long but isnt bad... Now for the pics....

Sorry about reviving a bit of an old post but the exhaust blows forward through the two holes on either side of the fuel injector. *edit* here is my review off of Spec Ops just in case some of you don't browse those forums. forum.specialopspaintball.com/index.php?s=713e10ecd1a3facd54025f25b83b709a&act=ST&f=35&t=27899&st=15

Exhaust is ported out the front but some of the gas is exhausted out of the RVA as well...and if the RVA just so happens to be in front of your face, you get a nice whiff of propane! lol
