Well lets set this thread off correctly with all the information that is vital here;
Ingredients
Weather conditions
Winds: Gusts of about 20+mph
Temp: 32 degrees and falling
Conditions: Snowing
Elevation: 8000+Ft (Not sure that matters but I will give all details I have)
Paint
PMI Premiums .689 - .691
RPS Marbalizers .686 - .689
Velocity
265 +/-
Setup
Tippmann A-5
Polished internals
MaddMann Spring Kit (Blue Spring installed/ Medium)
Co2

Now for the input;
Upon the planning of the game today (1/8/06) we expected to be playing in 43* weather with no snow until later in the evening. Once we arrived at the playing field we had become victims of the worst testing weather possible, snow, winds, and 30 some degrees. Not a good start to what initially should have been a good test day for the Flatline barrel. I got setup and went to chrono in and figured I would be adjusting a lot here. With my first shots I was reading right at 265-260fps, practically an ideal starting velocity. I chose to leave the velocity set at this point as the balls seemed to shoot well (Why bother with it at this point of the test period?). We all geared up at the field and proceeded to get the first game underway, I knew well and good this was going to be a bad day for the Flatline (*NOTE: I was not the only one using a Flatline barrel there, I noticed about 4 others at least with them on an A5 and one with it on the 98.)
Premiums used in this game.
The first game went fairly well, I only shot off about 50 rounds right away in this game. All my paint came out of the barrel cleanly and had no breaks, huge suprise as I was expeciting the paint to break within the first 2-3 shots. I was eliminated this game practically right away, not a big deal, the Flatline put the paint where I was aiming and did not break coming out.
Marbalizers used in this game.
Second Game was pretty much the same results as the first, I was attempting to eliminate three opposing team members hidden in a ditch. I had a tough time shooting through thicket like trees but the paint was going exactly where I was aiming at about 20 yards out. I unloaded about 250 rounds in this game. The paint did not break once, had a couple "odd-balls" but nothing horrible (Every case has a few bad ones).

Now keep in mind its has been snowing and only 30 degrees outside, the third game was the last one of the day for most of use. Some stayed out and had no issues with ball breaks. I was fine for about the first 5 shots and then things got ugly, I had a guy out about 15-20 yards and was just shredding the paint. Everything had finally suffered from the cold weather and was no longer working properly, I did not even both to squegee the barrel and just called it quits for the day.
Prior to the third game things seemed to be working out pretty well considering the conditions I had to deal with. The others with the Flatline seemed to also be getting good results during game play, only one other I talked to suffered from the cold a bit. There will be more reviews of the Flatline barrel system from myself in the near future upon my return out to the field.
Conclusion
It is too early to draw any reasonable conclusion about the Flaltine barrel at this point. I will say that I am impressed that I did not suffer from the results of the last game in the begining though. I will be testing this barrel more with a couple other paints, but more than likely will be sticking with Premiums and Marbalizers and adjusting the velocity a bit each time out.
Look for more of these type of reviews to come in......
