hey, i found a great deal on a model 98 barrel, but i have a 98 custom, will the threads match up? Please reply asap, i dont wanna lose this deal.

No, I'm pretty sure you can't use the same barrels, but my friend told me that you might be able to on older barrels, because they recently changed some of that stuff. Not really recently, but mabey a year or two ago. What barrel were you looking at getting?

There should be adapters available from the old style threads to new ones. I think lapco makes them.

There should be adapters available from the old style threads to new ones. I think lapco makes them. They sure do, here ya go. Keep in mind that not all 98 Customs have the new threads. At some point they switched from one thread to the other, so your 98 Custom may have the older threads.

yes, i realize this is old, but it may help someone later on.
a friend of mine has a 98c but bought a barrel for a m98. when he tried to screw it in, it would go in part of the way, but then would stop. to make a m98 barrel fit the 98c, all you have to do (or at least all he had to do) was loosen the screws (mainly on the front) and screw it in, then tighten them down
