Will we stick to our A-5's like the faithful 98 owners when the A-5 rolled in? Or, will we all buy the new model leaving our A-5's for special occassions? I know my 98 has just collected dust since I got the A-5.

Well, at this point its a pump, which, while they are pretty cool, certainly can't compare to the trusty ol' a-5. Although I am already imagining some of the looks for it... MMM pump action shotgun!

I really can't comment on this since I sold my A-5. But maybe I can... I sold my A-5 because (aside from needing the money) I realized that I wouldn't use it anymore. When I got my A-5, my spyder became back up. I haven't played with it in over 2 years. It will probably be different since the new gun is a pump so it won't get quite as much use.

I didn't realize that Tippmann is actually going to release this new stock-class marker. Here's the link for all those interested: www.tippmann.com/product_guide/markerDetails.aspx?categoryid=4I was just daydreaming earlier on what the next generation of A-5 will look like. I was hoping it would look like the MP7. I guess I'll have to wait another year or two to even consider another buying another paintball gun.

I didn't realize that Tippmann is actually going to release this new stock-class marker. It's not actually a stock class setup, but I bet it'd sell better if there were a stock class option... (Stock class is entails that the marker is pump action, has a 10-15 rd feedtube that's parallel to the barrel, has only one ball above the breech at a time so that the user must "rock and cock", and is powered by 12 gram co2 cartridges. Technically stock class markers aren't supposed to have porting on the barrel or autotriggers, both of which are features on "stock class" phantoms) Considering that it's big, heavy, has a plastic barrel, and smells, I don't think I'll be getting one. Who knows though, maybe I'll change my mind once it actually comes out.

Im not worried about any of these "problems". Tippmann has been in the game for over 10 years....I feel that they have been the greatest innovators to this sport. I find it kind of funny, all their work gets criticized until another company adopts their creation then its accepted. This all happened with the Fully Auto option.....noone liked it and it was banned....now look people cant get enough BPS.....Then there was the cyclone....."Its too big"....now a very efficent way of playing....its going to kill someone.
Not intending to bash anyone...just stating how Tippmann always gets the negative end of the spectrum, just because they are the innovaters, then it seems its only accepted when some speedball company re-invents it as their own.
Im already saving up for a C3, Im fully supporting Tippmann and I know they wouldnt ever release a product that could be dangerous to the sport.
Oh on a side note, in the C3 manual they mention the fact that they are working on a future semi-auto upgrade kit for the C3.....SWEET!

Well looks like this $180 I have pinned down for a WAS board and some Alias parts will go back burner - I checked this morning and found a extimated starting price of $179.99 PS - The majority of the gun is plastic ("composite")... And EDIT - Scratch the $180, they are already on ebay (about 20 of them total) with BIN's of around $230

And BTW - Looks like a little electrical tape and the tip of an Apex barrel would make for tons of fun on this sucker! Ahh I can't get over this - Reading the manual and every other statemen is either: Clean your sparkplug or Apply Wd-40 They also say it's normal for it to become "very warm" when shooting - How warm is very warm?

Don't paintballs tend to warp when exposed to "very warm" temperatures?
On the topic of tippmann guns the a5 will always have a special place in my heart. Hell I'd trade my trauma right now for an exact replica of trigga's calculator.
