Okay, I was looking through the info about the C3 on tippmann's site, I clicked on specifications and it says EFFECTIVE range: 150+feet. That is NUTS. It doesn't say MAXIMUM range. that means the gun is still accurate at 150+ feet in my mind. I wonder if that is an oversight, or if the gun natively has almost flatline range.

Effective range generally means "the range in which a ball could effectively mark a player". So not accurately, but if you lobbed a bunch of balls in someone’s general direction from 150' away, one would more than likely break.
Almost every paintball marker on the market uses 150' as the standard - So to answer your Q, it's not an oversight.

Like in my SL-68 manual:
Effective Range: Approx. 200 ft. Maximum Range: Approx. 200 yd.
ROFL, as it were.

I wouldn't think it was any different then any other marker in the world. It still uses compressed air to power a paintball through a barrel. Granted the barrel is composite, and the air is compressed on the spot via an explosion. Other then that i think its still exactly the same as any other gun in the world.
