I think tippmann has found the winter secret weapon. Supposedly the reason the C3 is a pump is so it wont get too hot and melt, right? What if you use it in say below freezing temperatures(32* I believe) or any temperature that will allow the air around it cool it off? Then could it be at least a semi-auto. I dunno I was just thinking about stuff cuz I was scoping out a outlaw field, but most of my friends run co2 and its almost snow time.
Anyways whats your feedback on this?

Its operating mechanism will only work as a pump so unless you want to design a whole new marker then it will be a pump regardless.
And in cold weather I think you could be getting liquid propane into the marker, but I am not sure what that would do as I believe propane has many similar properties as c02.

Sorry thats what I meant was that Tippmann make a whole new semi-auto marker, but for it to used in the winter months while its cold enough to cool it off. I didnt know about propane becoming a liquid either...

I doubt they would produce it as its far too much of a niche market, and I doubt the air cooling would be adequate anyway.

I don't think it would cool enough no matter how cold it is. It can only dissipate so much heat and from what I heard it can't dissipate fast enough at higher rates of fire.

I've used my C-3's in the cold (25F) and they performed beautifully. Theheat generated by the marker was enough to keep the propane entering the marker gaseous and hot enough to keep the balls from icing up.
