Sounds good! ;D Ive personally shot some DM's and I liked the feel of them over other speedball guns. Ive gone against some Shockers as well. Both are impressive, I would probably stick with a DM, as I have used shot other SP markers and didnt like the overall feel of them (Not just because Smart Parts sued every company in paintball) You can find the older DM's for relativly cheap on ebay and other paintball forums as well. Good Luck!

I agree, go for the Trix. Each new gun that Dye and Proto put out drives the price farther and farther down, and now it's easy to find some pretty damn good deals. Both the DM3 and older Trixes (with eyes, preferably) are a great bang for the buck.

Welcome to the forum xraya5!
Personally i dont know much on high end markers...or alot on speedball.
I was thinking of getting into it so i was looking at some Impuse's...then i was looking at the shockers. O MAN! I just cant beleve how friggin small and light they are! Maybe its just me..cuz im used to Tippmann's. But wow..thats what i would get if i was starting in speedball. Wont kill youre budget (to bad) and is over all a great marker.
my $0.02

Yeah,. welcome to the club. I have 3 A-5's right now and a Delta68. I have a Ion on the way. If I had the bux to spend I'd have an older trix or a DM4. But I just cant justify paying that much for a gun right now.
Someday,. sigh,. someday when the Dm10 comes out I'll be able to afford a DM4!

Yeah, you can't go wrong with a Trix with eyes. Just don't get a blind speedball gun. With the new Proto Matrix 6 going to be released, prices should be dropping even more on the used guns.

Hey fellas just picke dup an up'd ION nice marker, just one question. Those of you who own IONS do you install a QEV adn do you mess with the dwell. WTH is a dwell.. YOu know I am an A5 fellar and this dwell, ramping, push this push that button blink here blink there confuses the hell outta me...

You don't have to install a qev, dwell is the amount of time required for the gun to cycle. Typically a lower dwell is more efficient if you can get it too maintain velocity, and a higher dwell is a bit more gas hoggish.
P.S. Next time if you have a question like that you can start a new thread for it.

You need a QEV - You don't HAVE to get one, but you need one... QEV's give you about 1.5X more air effeciency and allow you to drop your dwell from about 50 chirps above bottom (stock) to around 17 chirps (an overall dwell of about 4.25 instead of nearly 11). Dwell is your friend... Back on subject - For just getting into speedball, a Trix of any kind (blind or with eyes, my blind one couldn't chop a paintball if it tried, set the regs good and your gold) or a Shocker. New shockers are good guns and 03-04's can be picked up for around $400-$500 fairly easily (on a large market of used guns like PBN). Then there's the Ion - Once the predator board comes out for them at cup, there's not much you're going to be able to do to match their "more bang for your buck" kinda value they are already known for. I liked my Ion's, I liked my Trix's, so it's all personal prefrence - If I were you, go out to your local field and find some guys with some of these guns and ask them if you can shoot um for a couple mins over the chrono to get a feel of accuracy, weight, speed, etc.

Hey MasterChief,. I feel your pain, My Ion just came in today. I'm very happy with it but boy is it a whole new world! I guess like anything it's going to be a learning curve. That is exactly how I felt when I got in my first Angel after using a Tippmann. It was like night and day and I hard to learn the entire gun all over again. I felt like a complete noobie, but I loved every minute of it. It helped me look at paintball a whole different way.
