Which BDU do you prefer? USMC's design, or the Army's ACU. I'm not just talking about the camo pattern, but also other functional design elements. I have genuine issue woodland Marpat utilities. I'm very happy with them. I play in Chicagoland, and the Marpat is a good match with the woodsy terrain. But I am intrigued by the ACU. I guess the blouse is zippered. And there's a lot of velcro. What do you guys think??

The ACU has some nice features, such as the shoulder pockets and adjustable collars, but I don't like the pattern too much and don't think it would blend in well in the areas that I play in.

I own a set of All terrain Camo(TruSpec) but want to get the real ACU's. The All terrain are ok, but don't have the same features as the real ACU's as they have the zipper on the jacket and the velcro is foliage color. The All Terrain don't have the zipper they have the old BDU style button jacket and the velcro is OD color not foliage in color. There is more velcro on the All Terrain that the ACU's and thats why alot of ppl who use these sets say that they make alot of noise when they open the pockets in the All Terrain Camo. Other than that you really have to be careful on how you wash the All terrain camo. Hand wash is the best and hang outside and don't wring or twist the water out of them. Just hang them out of the wash so the color wount fade as fast. As for South Texas they are not too bad in some areas they blend very well. You can tell that the ACU is light sensitive and use the shade and shadows to blend into the back ground. Other than that there are good for now until military changes their camo again. I use the MarPat camo, but modify the BDUs heavily- I had a tailor attach BDU sleaves and shoulders to a marpat Tshirt body, with a zippered T-shirt material neck. It's basically the same as the Crye Multicam combat shirt. I then replaced the pocket and fly buttons with velcro. Next I'm going to replace the shoulder pockets with velcro patches and reinforce the knees and elbows with some MarPat cordura I picked up.
