This Sticky defines militaristic terms that are commonly used in paintball. They are all located in this easy to read thread for your viewing pleasure! ;D
Frog Hopping/Leap Frogging: A common tactic used to advance into enemy held territory. One member of the squad advances however far up, while the others behind him provide cover. He then stops and provides cover as another member moves up. This pattern repeats...
Catapillar: A method of movement utilizing a staggered form of advancing one teammate at a time while still using covering/suppressive fire to quickly approch an enemy (Simaler to lepfrogging but with a much larger area, as in player can be several hundred feet apart)
Flanking: Where a member/s spread out wide and attack the opposition from its side, typically while other members keep the opposition looking forward.
Suppression/Cover Fire: When either your team or the enemy uses heavy amounts of fire to keep them or you pinned down
Advancing/Pushing: When you move up into enemy territory.
Ambushing: Setting up a tactically advantageous position to fire at the enemy; usually by the element of surprise.
Rally Point: Used as a group/squad meeting point after an objective has been completed or if the current mission cannot be completed.
More to come of course, just a tad bit busy at the moment....feel free to add Mil-Sim Lingo and Ill compile it all into a master list.
Thanks and Enjoy!
