Id like to appologize for happenings concerning a post deletion off of the "That forum which shall remain nameless" promoting A5OD. i hope this has not hindered relationships between each other as was represented by a clashing of addministrators at the other forum... this misshap does not represent the feelings of ANY "That forum which shall remain nameless" member or administrator twards cutting off relationships with A5OD. And i hope the Admins or members here do not accuse anyone of such. This sport is not based on rivalry and has a long history of cooperation and comradary. Do not let internet polotics cause a choosing of sides i implor you.
in peace (/l\)

Yeah, it's prety sad IMHO. But what can you do? Some staff members from both forums get together and try to make peace with each other, but then one guy comes along and throws it back in our faces. All that shows is how insecure some of there staff memebrs are about their own forum, how they don't want what's left of there member base leaving for fourms that actually work. Thanks for your post though, it means alot that the staff here aren't the only ones ticked off about what they do sometimes.

I appreciate the post as well but please do not see it necessary that the general "members" apologize as I believe it is pretty well agreed that neither side has anything "against" the others member base. This entire ordeal has been over administrators having words between closed doors and I apologize for everyone not being completely in the know but behind those closed doors, there is enough corruption that no members from either forum should be suspect to it. A lot of growing pains have occurred for both forums and to aid in that we (A5OD) had originally promoted the "That forum which shall remain nameless" in multiple forum boards, when an administrator promoted the A5OD for one post in one section, it near immediately got removed. As LBM said above, Some staff members from both forums get together and try to make peace with each other, but then one guy comes along and throws it back in our faces. In general it is known that the majority of both forums staff are friends and get along quite well but a select few from the "That forum which shall remain nameless" seem to want us (the two forums) separated as far as possible without posting a public "disownment". I truly appreciate your apology as it was not necessary but speaks words about how the majority of the two forums members feel. Thank you, Rob

Hi all, First post over here on the A5OD. I read Blokie's post over at the "That forum which shall remain nameless", and I thought that it was pretty cool, him furthering the olive branch between the two forums. Then I read Zap's post. I didn't like that at all. I was not for the creation of the A5OD at first. I thought that it would divide us all up, and that would not be cool. As time has continued, I see that the A5OD's existence will not be the dividing factor. IMO, it will be certain people in the "That forum which shall remain nameless"'s upper echelons that make the division grow. The people that have taken the old A5OG and made it into a commercial enterprise. Now, I'm not a big Internet guy. I don't get too much into the whole Web thing. But, I did like the A5OG, and I got to meet some cool people at games because of it. At the same time, there were some people on the old 'OG that I thought were a little "extreme," shall we say. It seems now that the people (a lot of them, anyways, not all)who want to have fun have migrated over here, while the extremist and capitalist continue to dork around the "That forum which shall remain nameless". Oh well, I'm over here now, and it's good to read around and see a lot of the same old people and same demeanor from the A5OG. I'll continue with the "That forum which shall remain nameless" from time to time, strictly for the friends I have made that still lurk over there. Otherwise, it's nice to see what you guys have made over here, and hopefully I can get back into the old A5OG groove with you folks. David

Thanks for the post, but the members shouldn't have to apologize for what happened things were on the up and up until a certain post was made.
In my mind the members of both forums and the majority of staff on both sides are still friends.

And to think all the fights I had with the old A5OG mods had me thinking I was the only one that felt that way about them. I too was very vocal about taking the A5OG in the direction it went, I wish more had spoken up. I am glad the A5OD is here. I was working on resurecting an A5 owners forum as well, you guys beat me to it, so I will just reap what you have sown.

I think that a lot of people really wanted everything to work out. I was one of those people who thought that we could make it work and not lose anything in the process. It would seem that I was wrong.
I'm going to continue to try and make the best of BOTH forums and see BOTH of them succeed. But the whole "We're the only forum we want our users to know about" attitude is a bit "off-putting." Like they don't know there are other forums out there with more activity or more members or that actaully work.
Yes, a lot of the issues can be put on Josh's (striker's) back. But there are other issues that can't and those are the ones that seem to be distressing most of the people who are upset about the move. It's not Striker's fault that the SF teams have all left thier forum. It's not Striker's fault that most of the "old School" members who formed the BASE of the a5og have left thier forum. It's not Striker's fault that most of the people who have left have said that the reason they are leaving is because the heart and soul of what was once an AWESOME online forum is gone and forgotten.
I don't think that the membership need applogize for anything, and I sure as hell don't think that the management here needs to apologize about anything. There are some people who need to wake up and smell the coffee... They are killing thier own "commercial enterprize" and they don't seem to care...

I read Blokie's post over at the "That forum which shall remain nameless", and I thought that it was pretty cool, him furthering the olive branch between the two forums. I tottally agree. Mike is a great guy and Van too. Van came over here and made a post about peace with the two forums. The both of them really tried to make peace between the two forums, and I had the most respect for those guys, then some of the upper managment had there way with things and look how it turned out... If the SF teams want a section here, they are more then welcome! But some of the staff have there own little thing in the works.

I don't know the ins and outs of any conflict, but I was leaving the "That forum which shall remain nameless" because I really didn't like the software. Then this morning a NEW MESSAGE button appeared so I will gladly be using both forums!!!!

A couple of the established SF teams have made the jump to our little forum here. If you want to join you need to find out which region of the country you're from and find out who the region leader of that area is.
