Hey all-
I recently had to switch to firing lefty and have a real problem with the fact that my finger keeps hitting the safety. On my last gun cleaning, I tried simply switching the safety around but could not get the grip back on. Am I not doing this right, is there some other step that I did not do, or am I just a complete moron?
Thanks for your help

Well your in luck man, i happen to have ye ol A5 sitting right here.
I am looking at the safety switch and trigger assembly. i know what your trying to do but the problem lies not with the grip or trigger assembly, but rather with the receiver part. If you look where your safety slides back and forth on the grip, you will also notice a notched area on the bottom of the receiver as well for the safety.
One side has a larger notch than the other, basically your kinda SOL unless you want to try and notch out the right side a bit more to allow the saftey switch you are trying to do.

I try to shoot from both hands, and had the same problem. My solution was posted in the old A5OG, but basically replace the safety with a removeable pin. I got mine at McMaster.com (they have everything). The part number is 92384A036, and attaches to the barell sock elastic, so both go in my pocket during the game. If you lose it, use one of the stripdown pins (front one from grip) until you get off the field. I did have to modify the notch with 1/4" drill bit as Swatornot suggests. PM if you want pictures or more info...
