Ask any speedballer and they'll recommend Crossfire over most brands including Dye. The only other brand that's got a phenomenal reputation other than Crossfire is MacDev.
I tested the Crossfire 68/4500 for 4 speedball games and it kept up very well with my R/T. However I really wanted another tank, a Dye 45/4500 due to its size, look, and feel. Everybody in the store and on the field, and I do mean EVERYBODY, urged me to go with Crossfire because of the regulator. These were experienced guys that owned several different tanks but they all have Crossfire now.
Instead of the 45/4500 I really should've waited to get a 70ci peanut as it is the best compromise between size and air capacity but whatever...
I really don't notice a difference between the Crossfire and the Dye as I used them for the same amount of time, but hey 15-20 speedball guys can't be wrong, right? "Survey says: Get the Crossfire 70ci!" [ding, ding, ding]
As for the tank cover, there are only a few companies making 70ci stubbies so I highly doubt that Dye will make a smaller/larger tank just so to be exclusive. The Dye cover should be fine. I held the Dye and Crossfire 68 tanks side-by-side and they were the same size.
