I sent an email asking about it, why, advantages and stuff like that. 40+ guys on the team and 3/4 of us use the A-5 so....

It's probably a weight reduction issue. The A-5 Rear bolt was a little heavier than the M98 bolt, and they are probably looking for ways to make them more "compatable" since they seem to have had issues with getting the m98 drive springs installed on A-5s. The outter shell is probably hardened because of all the contact points in the action, with the inner core being where the real weight is, but there is really no need for that core to be hardened.

I have this new bolt. I believe I know why they changed it. Insurance. I keep on reading of a new problem, velocity. A marker that comes from the factory with capabilities of 350+ fps is a liability. This bolt design will make it a real challenge to get +300. I have only been able to achieve this number when I have had a really good paint match. If there are any lawyers here they would concur. A marker that is supercharged is a danger and has a built n lawsuit. Just my 2 cents. If someone can verify my theory, please reply. Crono your new stock A5 with this bolt and see your max fps. Post your results. 280 fps most field paint. 301 fps large boar paint. <-- pig fans need not reply. Stock A5 Crossfire 68/4500 itchy trigger finger.
