www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,182932,00.html I for one held this belief all along. I mean I didn't see how the intelligence agencies of Israel, the U.S., Great Britain and many other Nato countries could all be wrong about the existence of WMD's in Iraq.

Well, well, well....anybody think Bush has any apologies coming? He should but everyone saying he's wrong to search for them must be in support of dictators and fear tactics. Very interesting read. Nice post, Vash.

Let's not forget Kozzie that Good ol Slick Willie Clintons 8 years in office were fueled by the same claims of WMD, He just didn't have the marbles to go over there. In his own Defense he did blow up the Chinese Embassy in the Balkins, Ha ha... ...PG

Interesting. I too have always believed there were, and probally still are WMD in that country. They found those French made missle capable of carring these chemical weapons burried in the desert. Heck they found friggin Mig's burried in the desert. It is interesting to me also, that FOX news was the only news network I saw with the story on the French made missles...
And Syria is probally the most dangerous counrty in the middle east.

I would like to point out that I called this one when the war started. I know from first hand accounts of military engagements along the syrian boarder between US special ops teams and......Russian SF. Whether these guys were freelance or active Spetznaz is not known but, it was them. Thw world and the liberals are blind, don't expect to hear a sorry from any of them.

How much wait and see do you need? Wait and see until Hamas hits Tel Aviv with WMD? This is an old story resurfaced, the UN even said it was possible back in '03 when they we talking about the huge increase in truck trafic into Syria.

I would like to see some more proof. You cant just believe one source. All politics aside, Fox News has something of a habit of being the first, and often the only major news outlet that is willing to publish unsubstantiated assertions. (Dan Rather's booboo aside.) This story is clearly described as hearsay by the Iraqi author who is attempting to sell a new book. The subject is so imflammatory that one would expect it to be splashed across the headlines everywhere. Well, it's been several days now. Not even the current administration is latching onto this one. That's not to say that I think the WMD never existed. To the contrary, I suspect that they did. But this isolated story is certainly not a smoking gun.

There are a LOT of colaborating stories out there about this one. But here's my take circa March, 2005: kreeper-x.typepad.com/kreepers_korner/2005/03/could_the_russi.htmlThis story came about at about the same time that Syria was pulling troops out of Lebennon and moving them to... wait for it... The Bakka Valley! Right where the intellegence seemed to be pointing and near areas where engagements with "highly organized" forces were taking place along the Iraq/Syria border. My point all along has been that we KNOW that Saddam had these weapons, and yet we aren't finding them in Iraq? The question should not be "were there ever weapons to begin with?" but rather "Where in the hell did they go."

And Syria is probally the most dangerous counrty in the middle east. Nah. Syria is small-stuff compaired to Iran and it's current leadership and nuclear programs. That said, Fox wasn't the only media source to cover the French weaponry, or the chinese weaponry, or the Yellow Cake Uranium found in Iraq (so much for Mr. Valerie Plame's uranium vacation)... BTW, 1.77 Metric tons of Yellow Cake was found and removed from Iraq... No one covered that story except the Internet media...

I've known about this for a long time. What kind of weapon was it? Chemicals. Weapons do not have to be missiles or large caliber cannons. Mustard gas and nerve agents. I don't want them here!!! pay taxes for them to find them if there is a threat. If there was a "chance" that I had a large case of mold in my walls at my house, I wouldn't hesitate to find it and get rid of it. Same with porcupines. I wouldn't want to wake up with one on my face. All of the reasons and means are there. Find the item of transportation. Everybody knows that everybody has something. That's why nobody can trust each other and is always spying. Oh yeah, I support eaves dropping if my security is at stake.

Well, guys, I can say that that story may be BS. He could be tellign our government what they want to hear. I would like to hear a CIA response to what this gentleman has said.
I have and still do believe that Saddam had these weapons. He had plenty of time to move them. There was plenty of fore warning that we were coming. It is hard to tell how his reasoning actually works. I think in his mind that proving us wrong was the way to beat us, instead of using the weapons he had and beat us on the battle field. Because as crazy as he is, he knows our policy on use of WMD's. A germ is a chemical is a nuke to us. We dont employee the others, so we respond a chemical or germ attack with a nuke.
Anyway, sooner or later the truth will be known. After Saddam is executed, then perhapse there will be more people coming forward to tell what was truely going on in that country, and then hopefully we will know if there were or weren't WMD's there. Reguardless, Saddam needed very badly to be removed from power, the question now is, have we made it worse for the Iraqi people. For their sakes, and their childrens future, I hope we cant settle that country down and give them the peace, freedom, and justice that they deserve just as much as everyone of us.
