I assume you've forced the trigger all the way forward while trying to insert the safety. It takes a bit of wiggling. A few folks, though not many, have reported having to file the point on the back of the trigger that intrudes into the safety passage. I suspect that this problem is caused by a combination of slight manufacturing variations between the JCS trigger and the Tippmann safety hole.

The JCS trigger is designed to allow a very short pull with a minimal overtravel. This means you will have to actually push the trigger forward slightly to engage the safety. There are two screws to adjust the two stops. If you make the pull to short you can make it so that the safety can't engage and if you make it even shorter the gun will fire seemingly at random. At least, thats from what i've heard. I've never encountered the problem first hand.

I had this same issue with mine while installing. I had to push the trigger forward to engage the safety. Whats more, after taking it to the field, the gun would fire off a few extra balls per trigger pull. Once back home, I backed off the trigger a bit via the two screws. Patience is a must with this part as there is a lot of pulling apart and putting the marker back together. Needless to say I have found the sweet spot now and the issues have all but gone away.
