Just regesterd here, I was on both A5OG and "That forum which shall remain nameless", but i found this place and i like it better because its identical to the old A5OG.
I have a CMI 16" barrel and i want to get a new barrel. I was thinking of getting ether a 12" or 14".
I have been looking at the J&J Performance Edge 5 piece kit or the J&J Edge Elite kit.
Are ether of those good barrel kits, and if not what other barrels would u recommend?

Welcome to the forum a5attacker. As for your barrel question you won't notice much difference in the length but I personaly would'nt go over 14". The kits are nice but I find my J&J ceramic shoots great when I am using quality paint. I guess if you are changing paint and find the need for the different bore size a constant, the kits are o.k. , I would find a paint that works well for your setup and maybe buy a barrel that is not as expensive. Remember cost is not everything, maybe what you save you can upgrade somewhere else... ...PG

The Edge Kit can be found for only $77.00 brand new. I suggest getting the kit. I had one and it shot really well. The thing I didn't like about the Ceramic was the annodizing of the barrel (the exterior). I'd have to wash it with water to clean off paint--this was not the case with the Edge barrel.

Good point Medina, Did'nt think about that cause I usualy wash everything down after I play anyway, I'm kinda OCD about it... ...PG

About the paint i buywhatever i can find that is fairly priced. I leard during the frist game I played that anything longer than 14" is way to long  . i have found a paint that i usualy tend to get but i play at field a lot so i have to buy there paint. (and paint usualy tends to chang even if it is for the same company) thanks for the suggestions and input, see u around the site. |
