especially coming from smart parts. It took em a while, but they are finally taking dibs at getting into the woodsball/milsim market. I think for their first crack it looks pretty damn good. from what I understand, its basically an ION underneath all that. if they don't price it out of the water I think it'll sell pretty well.

I kinda like it. At least the SP is taking the shot at the milsim guns. Not bad for a 1st attempt. It all has to start somewhere.

Isn't JCS coming out with something like that? (Maybe they should sue SP) Its a step in the right direction.

I think it's OK but it isn't something I would buy. It looks hard to field strip with all the excess armor. I'm not a big magazine fan but it definitely adds to the intimidation factor. Then again, my A-5 scares newbies and veterans alike; it even scares me sometimes. I think I'll stick with the Tippmann.

I think its a great move by SP. I play scenario heavily, like 9-12 games a year. And I have looked around lately and there are alot of Ions out there being used. Its unbelievable in a style normally dominated by Tippmans and cockers is just about being overrun by Ions. I mena they are cheap, great guns, and very reliable. If the SP8 really is exactly an Ion underneath and just as reliable I know SP's sales to the scenario market will jump through the roof with all the people that love mil-sim and alos love the Ion.

I got to dry fire one of these at my local shop last week and I think I peed a little. It feel great (weight, grips, balance, etc) this was without any of the "accessories" with a 68/45 on the ASA, no hopper, a full hopper and remote might tweak the balance a bit more forward then I like. This one had the blackheart board on it and it just plain ripped.
If I ever decide I'm done with my A-5, a SP8 with Qloader would be *very* high on my list.....
