Awhile back I bought a spec-ops 3 section tac cap. I only cut off one section and superglued that to the end of the neck of my hopper so my hopper would be more elevated, and I could mount my sight directly to my gun. So now I found the other 2 sections, and on the end of one is a snap on lid. So, I pondered on what I could use this for, and I came up with the idea of using some electrical tape (yeah, call me a hick) to tape it over one end of my sight, acting as a visor over the lens of the sight to get a clearer dot because the sun might not be shinning directly on the lens. Think this would work?

In theory yes, but I say since you have the parts lying around to go ahead and try it. Its not like you could hurt anything.

I just tried it, just using the lights in my room, didnt show a major difference, but i'm goig to keep working on it, looking at different angles and positions for the visor.

Hahaha, Mike, think of it like this. You know when dogs have problems, they put that plastic cone thing around there necks? Its kind of like that.
I have a circle piece of plastic, that im going to put around the end of my sight (not the end I look out of) and this mabey will prevent sunlight from hitting that side of my lens, mabey making a brighter dot.

Thank you Dan that analogy made everything clear for my simple simple mind....check your pm box you may like what you see what you could also do is like wear sunglasses inside your goggles...you would look so cool .....
What im not following is where u are getting the glare?

If its the side you look into then this thread makes no sense and i am wasting my time but all you would need to do is wear a visor on your mask...EDIT EVEN THOUGH I DIDNT EDIT: I acctually read what you sed like the whole thing and realized u sed not the end i look out of

If its the other side your thing might work then ;D but you could also try using like a smoke lid(to a pod or even your tac cap) and attaching it to the end on a hinge that way(in theory) instead of just having it cover your lense you could flip it up and it would act like an Umbrella for your sight...this would just involve, in your case electric tape(you hick) the cap with lid to say the top of the sight or whatever and then making a lock of sort on the actual marker underneath the sight using whatever(maybe a little piece of wood and more electrical tape)

Hope this isnt wat you were already doing or i just wasted 10 minutes of my time
