I am seriously considering picking up a specops recon vest and some of their marauder pants.
My question is are specops products decent quality? If not what vest would you reccomend for under 100$.
Also what size marauder pants or bdu's do you think would be appropriate for someone with a 40-42 waist size?
Thanks, Vash

SpecOps vests are made by COPS911 so they are absolutely top quality. If you want a decent vest for under $100 - look into a Fluury www.hotshotpaintball.com/merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=CTGY&Category_Code=CA-FLURRY. My guess is that you will need a Large for the Marauder pants, but I'd call them and confirm. I have a pair of those and they are pretty decent. There are not enough belt loops on the waist, but they come with a built-in fabric belt so it's not a huge deal.

Seriously, Robert does incredible work on his vests. They are worth more than you pay, in my opinion. Definately go with the Cops/SpecOps vest!

I wouldn't recommend the recon vest because the waist isn't that adjustable. I have one myself and I'm an athletic fit (42" chest with a 30" waist). If I had to do it over again I'd either get a sabre or broadsword vest. There's no way I'd get a small. hehe
The marauder pants should be alright. I have the fusion battle pants and its performance can't justify the $90+ price tag. The stiching broke in a couple of places after 2 days of play. I sent it back to specops for repair and they fixed it at no charge saying that a couple of their pants used the wrong thread. Nice customer service but there shouldn't have been a problem in the first place. Ever since then the pants and the threading have held up so I'm content
Even though I'm not 100% happy with the recon vest and the fusion pants I'd still buy from specops. My next couple of purchases will be the sabre vest and the ACU marauder jersey and pant.

If you go with the Marauders, be prepared to see some fading over the time. If you get them, wash the pants with color friendly detergent, use cold water, wash inside out, and hang dry them. This should preserve the color for a good amount of time. For sizing, I would go with an 2XL or 3XL and maybe 4XL (*Maybe*)
The Fusions, mine have been good to me since day one. Thankfully I ordered before the bad batch came out. So I have been very pleased with them ever since.
For the vest, I would suggest the COPS911 Scout vest. It’s fairly smaller than the recon, and seems to be more maneuverable. It can hold the same amount of paint, but you may have to have some modifications to hold the same amount of equipment. But stock price is $109.95, so the "modifications" may higher the price a bit. Other than that, I would go with a Flurry or Dagger vest. If not them, then the 06' Recon, for it comes with an elastic belt like the Broadsword so it will be more stable. If you can rack up enough money, then hit it up with the Broadsword or Saber vest.

The reason I favor the recon vest is I will never need to run remote and am looking primarily for a comfortable way to carry paint without making my lower back any more sore then it is with a pack.

In that case, I would look at the 06' Recon vest or the Flurry vest. Since they are under $100 and all.
EDIT: Oh buddy, I quite a few spellling errors in those two posts, nobody's perfect.

I have the Scout vest and it's awsome. If you don't need a tank pouch on it, you can always ask Robert to take it off or substitute it for extra pod pouches. That shouldn't cost you much (if anything) and you'd get a much better quality vest than the Flurry (which was what I had before the Scout). I didn't mention the Scout at first because you wanted something under $100 and COPS911 vests can get pricy with customization. But like Stret said, it's only $109 stock and I bet taking off the tank pouch will be free.

I too went from a Flurry to a scout vest. There is no beating cops911 when it comes to comfort and durability-plus the price tags are not bad for what you get!
