Well after looking through a few other posts on the A5OG i decided to go ahead with my own design using PVC parts.. all i used are the following; 1 1.5" Diameter X 12" tubing 2 1.5" PVC Plugs I already had the bipod but nothing to mount it on and since my dad is a gunsmith on free time i had plenty of tools and other resources avilible for me to make this possible.... Here is a side by side of my A5 and the AR-15 i took 2 1.5" Plugs as pictured here... And drilled a hole large enough for the barrel to slide through, i put the block shaped side inwards so there was a bit more support for the barrel as well as having a recessed look from the front. I had to sand down the outside of the plugs in order to fit inside the PVC tubing. I used PVC cement to secure them. The holes in this picture are the start, Since it is PVC i did not want to crack it so i stepped up a size each time.. Then i drilled a hole on the bottom side of the shroud for a set screw location. It taps into the barrel adapter part and holds snuggly there. However i am goign to look for a copper ring for the inside of the pvc for some added support. Here is the Bipod Mounted.... Here is a Side by Side of the Assebled handgaurd and one from the AR-15 Finished Side by Side.. notice the small Base on the cyclone side for my flashlight to be mounted... Paint Stages Primered... Blacked out... Shroud Installed All back together and ready for action...

i saw this mod and it inspired me. i used you idea with 2 different parts. instead of clean out plugs i use 1"x3/4" SPXS bushings. They fit in 1 inch pipe and have a 3/4 inch ring inside. i used my stock barred and it almost fit into the 3/4 inch ring. i honed it out with a knife and blamo. perfect fit. just thought i throw my way in. ill throw some pics up later. the main difference ise the shroud is pretty much flush with whre it ends on the barrel unlike the clean out plug and how it is indented.

Either way works fine, I just used the indented version since i was going off the AR-15 Platform with the floating hand guard

I was wondering how you keep the shroud from sliding off the barrel? Did you use one of those clamps you can screw down? Or did you glue it to the barrel?

I was wondering how you keep the shroud from sliding off the barrel? Did you use one of those clamps you can screw down? Or did you glue it to the barrel? I drilled to holes on the rear end of the shroud, Then I used two set screws on the barrel adapter. Tapped into the adapter a bit, just to create a small "crater" if you will. This way the set screw will have something to set into instead of clamping down on a barrel or possibly squishing the adapter.
