** THIS MODIFICATION WILL NOT WORK WITH THE R/T TRIGGER SYSTEM**
One Momentary push button, can be found at Radio Shack.
Length of wire to run from grip to the Light mounting position
A light of your choice.
Mounting hardware for light
Heat Shrink wrap/Black tape
Soldering Iron
Epoxy
1/2" Drill bit
First thing to do is find your lights mounting location either on a shroud or other place. After you have a spot picked out simply run wire from your light to the grip... give yourself about 3-4" of extra to use. DO NOT HOOK UP THE WIRE YET.
Next take apart the grip frame (separate the two halves) and drill a hole into your grip just above the "thumb" line on the grip. You should be drilling right into the front part of the R/t mounting location.. ( you will see this as the grip comes prepared for adding the R/t, If you have an R/t you will not be able to mount the button here.)
Here is where you will want to hook some wires up.
Take your switch and solder the wires onto it. This will give you a good connection at all times.
Before hooking up your wires to the other end you will want to wrap the wires in either black electrical tape or like I did just use some Heat Shrink wrap, stuff works great.
You will need to solder the wires to the light as well, you could even make a quick connect/disconnect on the light as well for easy removal.
Now you will need to install the button. Some you may be able to use the back screw piece and others you may not due to the curve on the inside of the grip. So I just used some good old epoxy and set the switch in place with a clamp to ensure it was a smooth fit.
Right in thumbs reach....
Now hooking up any light to this is pretty simple..
A normal flashlight uses a push button to turn the light on and off... just like your momentary switch your about to install except the momentary switch wont keep the light on when you let the pressure off. So what you want to do is bypass/remove the light's factory switch and run your momentary wires to that location. Simply solder your wire leads to the contact points for the stock switch.
Running the wires from the grip to the light is pretty simple, you can use the hole in the grip frame for the R/T pin and run the wires out form there. Run the wire up along the cyclone side of the marker and then to your light. Just make sure you have the wires out of your way so you don't pinch it when the trigger is pulled.
Just a normal flashlight modified a little...
I think that about covers it, if you have any other questions feel free to ask
