Delrin is one of the smoothest manmade materials. Its a self lubricating plastic. This decreases friction the bolt has on the powertube.

I don't mean to sound degrading and I hope this post doesn't come off as such but I just have to ask; If you don't know what it does why in the world did you buy it? With all the hype and misinformation out there and the price of alot of paintball equipment buying stuff for the sake of buying it or because 'everyone else is' can get extreemly costly, not to mention frustrating and detremental to your playing experience.

Part of the challenge in upgrading a paintball marker is wading through all the nonsense posted on various forums regarding a particular mod. It often comes down to simply trying something to see what you end up with.
The Delrin bolt is a good example. The most often cited benefit is that it is self-lubricating. That sounds like a good thing. What difference will it make to my marker? My marker is always well lubed. I suspect that a Delrin bolt will outperform a stock bolt in a receiver that still has paint overspray roughening the surface on which the bolt must glide. My marker's chamber is polished.
Even with "scientific comparison of aftermarket widgets" posts by experienced and competent users, the swarm of variables still leaves one with unanswered questions about what difference X will make on my marker. When I have spare cash and enough curiosity, I buy something and try it.
A good example is the Freak Barrel Kit. Judging from most comments about the Freak, it should offer improved performance over a fixed bore barrel. In testing it on my A-5, carefully trying various bore sizings with various paint batches, its performance in my hands was worse than my J&J single piece ceramic barrel.
So, I do smile when I read, "I just bought this. What does it do?" or more comonly, "I just bought this. Is it any good?" my only response is, "Give it a try and let us know how it works out."

Its a replacement for you front bolt, not much to it, everything i have seen says that the stock tippmann front bolt is the most efficient, but thats jsut my .02

I've spent alot of time researching most of my upgrades and it's the few I didn't research that I found myself regretting later. Just wanted to make sure you weren't going down that same path. Speaking of delrin I remember hearing somewhere that it actually swells if oiled.. Can't remember for certain so i'm hopeing someone can confirm or deny this for me.

I believe that Delrin is inert, and will not swell with common marker oils. The same has been asked about orings. I've had a BUNA-Nitrile oring, a silicone oring and a Viton oring soaking in a covered dish of Empire Oil for Blowback Markers for 7 months now, with no sign of swelling. (I suspect that some oils that contain additional solvents may cause orings to deteriorate.)

I know that on the old og we were told that using hoppes was kinda not the best oil to use.
Dont get me wrong its great to use, but it has detergents in it. I've allways used Pnumatic Tool Oil... its in the pnumatic tool section at home depot or something.
Its lighter oil and it vaporizes much easier meaning better oiling all around when put in your asa...
Sorry for the hijack but i wanted to bring that up.
Other than that delrin, i hear much about it and kno little. If you bought the power tube and got tht bolt with it, just try it out and let us know.
