Hi Fellas,
I was looking into putting a regulator on my A-5. I've seen the Tippmann Low Pressure Kit out there, but I was wondering if there is any advantage to using that over just putting a regulator on my A-5 (along with an RVA and new springs).
Thanks,
Tony

Depending on your setup, you might not be able to or want to go LPR. It is hard to get Co2 to reliably go low pressure (but I think it can be done with a dual regulator setup?), so you would want to use compressed air instead and depending on where you live that might be a problem to get fills when you need it. Also if you have a egrip or reaction trigger, the lower you go your rate of fire will start to decrease, the LPR kit comes with a lighter bolt to help make up for that. You might need to get new springs depending on your setup & how low your trying to go (stiffer springs open the valve longer).
I'm not sure if the front velocity adjuster is more or less of a problem at lower pressures, but if you don't already have a RVA your performance:cost ratio would probably be best with a RVA, madman spring, and palmer stabilizer.
I would wait for someone else to confirm everything above though, since I have no experience with the LPR kit and haven't recieved my palmer yet.

Thanks. And I will be using HPA, not CO2.
I wonder if using a reg like an ergo will provide enough airflow. Anyone know about that?

You'll want a secondary regulator with the LPK to bring your air pressure down. Most A5 users seem to favor Palmer Stabilizers, but any low-pressure reg should work. When you order a Stab from the Palmer website there's an option for high or low pressure.

I have had better results and more consistancy with the Tippmann Proshop reg vs the Palmer Stab. I had good results out from the Stab when I was CO2. Once I went LP, the palmers just was not up to par. My velocity was all over the place until I got the Proshop reg. Plus, the Proshop reg has the air connecting to the bottom which makes it a better grip. The Stab has the air connecting on the side which makes it harder to use as a grip.
