I have an a5 egrip that I've had since last spring. IN the last month or 2 the accruacy has gotten pretty bad. I normally run an apex barrel and when it began hitting a circle the size of a volks wagaon, I switched to a 14 inch barrel. What is happening is the balls seem to have side spin on them. First they curver right, then left. I'm using a stock bolt, no rva and hpa. This happens with both barrels. It happens when the marker is clean and lubed. I'm wondering if I have a worn part that is causing this. I know I need a new rachet. Any thoughts?

Maybe the rachet could be the problem...maybe the balls are completly in the chamber but enough to where they wont chop....thus causing a spin on the side of the A5? No idea but might be worth looking at....

It might be caused by a bad paint-to-barrel match or velocity spikes. What's the rest of your setup, and what's the power source?
Also, check to make sure your detent is still intact.

It actually just sounds like bad paint. This is the prime time of year to end up with stale paint, since the sales volume is so low. Inspect for seams, out-of-round, inconsistent diameter.

I agree with the stale paint theory. To check if its your cyclone ratchet push in the cyclone rod/piston (don't know what its called) to see if it "clicks" the next ball in the chamber. If it doesn't click then your ratchet is broken and you won't even be able to shoot 4 shots in succession.

I didn't do a barrel match test like I should have, but I know my velocity is all over the place. My setup is a stock a5 as far as the internal parts go, polished internals and an egrip. I run a 92 4500 nitro duck hpa tank via remote. My original plan when I took out the RT and went egrip was to play with it a few times and sell the whole rig and get a Pro stock with an eblade. (My sons trilogy is far more accurate than my A5). But this egrip rocks, and if I can get the accuracy back I'll probably keep it.

When is the last time you changed your springs? I had come velocity problems and solves it somply by changing out the stock spring with a madman spring. Problem was solved until I bent the spring but, at $8 or so it's worth a try and a good upgrade to have anyway.

I've never changed any parts on the marker except the trigger. ;D
Guess it's time to make the final decision, keep it and change more stuff, or go auto cocker. (If I keep it Im going RVA, a palmers stabilizer and whatever else I can get to improve performance.)
