Hey,
I was recently searching through pbreview and I believe it mentioned in a few posts somewhere that having the DOP ProSeal Bolt Kit (the after-market metal one) is bad or has a negative affect on an A-5 performance. Is this true? If so, how? And is it only this after-market powertube that's bad, or are all of them bad? Any info would be great!
Thanks, -Commander-

The DOP pro seal bolt and power tube work awesome for me. I noticed an improvement in accuracy with it, as well as a small improvement in shots per tank.

I really liked the Proseal from DOP in my A-5 when I had it. It was well made and I liked the Teflon insert in the front bolt. I did not see a major difference in performance, but something about the set impressed me. I also liked the slight cup that is on the front bolt, that would give it a tendency to be slightly more gentle on paint.
All it all, I thought it was a great product.

Thanks for your input, but anyone here have a bad experience with it?

I actually purchased my DOP pro-seal from Trigganometry on the old B/S/T section of the A5OG over a year ago. He had no trouble with it and I have expierienced no problems since I installed it myself. It has been to D-Day, Blanding (in Jacksonville) and about three or so 24hr. games at Waynes World (Ocala, FL.) and a few local games.
I have been happy with it but I can't say I noticed any major difference, just another cool gadget to add to the A5 lol.

The best thing about an aftermarket bolt is the Powertube can have no chance of breaking. If you break your stock powertube, Tippmann will send you a replacement for free, but unless you have a spare handy, it may ruin your day of paintball.
TriggaNometry, didn't you do a write up on the old forum about how the DOP showed the larger improvement from stock (by a very small margin) [and an even smaller margin over the JCS bolt and powertube]?

Maybe Archive.org has something from it. I'll check later.

I have archived several a5og articles by Cavalry:
Scientific side by side comparison of leading aftermarket front bolts for the A-5! Scientific Side by side comparison of aftermarket power tubes and also of gun oils A scientific side-by-side comparison of aftermarket front bolts revisited
Holler if you'd like me to post these.

Cavalry determined that when used with the JCS gold powertube, the proseal front bolt was the most accurate after-market front bolt out there.
I think those posts that Cav. did back on A50G should be posted here as stickies since they contain tons and tons of information backed up by scientific data. They still exist on paintball owners group in the A-5 section...
