I've recently been trolling Ebay looking to pick up my first A-5 (I've been wanting one for a long time, though not to say my pro-carbine hasn't been well-loved). I've come accross a few auctions selling factory refurbed A-5s (they are all being sold by the same ebay store)
Including the insane shipping cost (25$) it would only be 150-160$ for one whose auction is closing in about 5 hours, at nearly 60-70$ cheaper then the cheapest online retailer I can find (220$ with free shipping from action village), I can't help but give it a look.
My question to you guys is does anyone have any experiance with refurbed tippmanns? Even though I've had nothing but good experiances buying used items in the past (my nitro tank, my hopper, and my car for example). It still makes me nervous every time, and doubly so when I can't try it out to verify its in good working order. My brain tell's me its a tippmann and so it should work just fine, especially if the factory has had their hands on it to fix it up, but I'm still worried. Does anyone have any info on tippmann's refurb track record?

A friend of mine bought a refurb A-5, off ebay. Probably from the same dealer you mentioned. He has had no trouble with it, at all. They are factory refurbs. Its kinda like buying a transmission from Jaspers. Its a used case with new internals. I think you would not be disappointed with the refurb A-5.

Hey there snake. Welcome!
What I would do is give Tippmann a call and tell them your situation. Tell them that you have little cash and the price on eBay looks great to you and that you'd rather buy brand new because you've been a loyal Tippmann user for X-amount of years.
Ask them if you are to purchase a refurbished A-5, would Tippmann still hold the warranty and all that good stuff. Tippmann's customer service kicks butt.

Thanks for the replies guys, currently I'm the winning bid on a brand-new A-5 (I bid on it before I looked at the refurbs, and I'm still winning). I'm still gonna save 30$ or so if I win the auction so its not bad for a brand new one.
If I end up losing I'll probably take trigga's advice.
