Well I'm nearing the completion of my cheapest paintball alternative weapon yet! Its a "flamethrower" (paint thrower) that coasted me 10 dollars to make!
basically its a water fire extinguisher mounted on an old backpack frame with an extended nozzle and a bike brake to actuate the handle.
My camera is acting up right now and I'm going to replace every oring on it tonight and get a new gage for it. Basically you unscrew the top and fill it with 2 and one half gallons of paint and close hand tight. Than you pressurize with a shredder valve to 100 PSI. everything on it is pressure rated well beyond that and its all stock parts.
Before I started working on it I could get 65 get (on an arc) for 45-55 seconds on continues spray. I built this for those CQB moments and bunker busting, also for castle conquest and d-day. Basically it will rule in very tight conditions where I can just soak somebody. Because of the very low PSI I'm allowed to have a 3 foot rule.
The downside is it is ONE VERY HEAVY GIRL. water is about 8 1/3lbs per gallon. Thats about 20 lbs of water plus you figure the tank weighs about 10 lbs with all the hazes and hardware. thats 30 lbs of equipment on your back. Than you add the pistol and grenades I carry. Now luckily I play football and weight about 315 lbs and am 6' 4" so I'm figuring not too many people will be lining up to use it. Another problem is the tank has to be upright to work and its bulky. So forget about running across open Fields.
But Decker why? just why?
I guess because the Americans had one at d-day so I'm going to even up the odds, and its just fun to cool hot girls off with in the summer months. (especial the ones with skimpy shirts) HA-HA but no on a serious note I think it would be really deadly in some of the situations that Ive been thrust into in d-day. Like that time I got ambushed by the 4 French men I could have easily taken 3 of them out. Or when we tried to recapture the beach head. I was within spitting distance of a tank (seriously it was the scar yest moment of my life) it was me, medic max, and a German HQ sub commander.
Also the psychological effects it could have. Like OMG THERE GOES THE TORCH!!!one11!!1 !!!1 G3T HiM. Maybe it can be used to make the Americas and French think twice about trying to fight down the very close range winding path of the German HQ defense. Add in the claymores and MG nests I'm going to set up and Ill dare any one to just try.
