wow bulldog that looks great... karma 4 u... if i do mine myself and it turns out that way ill be happy... i think im going to play around with some duracoat... see how it goes... i did a test on my co2 tank (with regular brush on paint)... and instead of drawing the pattern on to tape i printed the pattern onto labels and stuck them here and there... i made alot of mistakes but atleast i learned...
MF... your guns look great... i couldnt do anything like some of the things you did (im not very artistic)... would you take on some sidework? if i cant handle it myself? i would give you some karma to but they only let you do 1 person... also what kind of stripper do you use to strip your guns?

Sorry RandyA it took so long to get back to ya. We were at a game all weekend. I use Jasco industrial stripper. Yeah I strip it all the way down to the bare metal and then I etch the metal so the paint adheres better. Id be happy to help ya if yours doesnt turn out the way you want it. But you really should try it yourself. Its a great feeling to finish a sweet looking marker.
Bulldog I dont know why you would want to send your marker out it looks better than 99% of the paint jobs I see out there. Good Job.

MF - Ever try the "self etching primer"? I'm wondering how that stuff works? Supoosed to do the same thing and help the paint adhere much better to the aluminum than it not being etched.

I tried some cant remember what brand. The Duracoat seemed to react with it and turned it into a gummy paste. So I just stick with the Duracoat to straight metal.

yeah... ive sent wookie a couple of emails, but havent heard anything from him... i guess ill tackle it my self... i want to do a digital paint job Sorry Randy...For some reason i didnt get them... As for being overpriced, its a lot like art. A piece of canvas and paint are negligible in cost, its the hours the artist puts into it that you pay for. BTW Mal, the tigerstripe that you did for GoT_Dead was one of my founding inspirations. FWIW, I'm about to start selling stencils for people who want to do it themselves using spraypaint or whatever paint they prefer. W

In general I dont bake. It does make it quicker, but I find the adhesive becomes VERY tacky when its baked. It makes it more likely to pull paint if you dont have a good bond w/ the marker.
I just finished making the stencil, but I want to test it on my own A5 before I go public with it. Hopefully by Monday I will be able to go live...

How much do you charge for a digital job like on the G36C? No worries Bulldog. I didnt take offense to what you said I was just trying to be a Smarta$$ with my response. To answer your other question I would rather walk someone through doing it themselves than do it for them. And from the pics you posted you dont need any help. Trust me each time you do it, they will get a little better as learn new tricks. I paint our markers about once a month it seems like.
