even in chicago land, it wasn't completly popular with every baseball fan watching the games.
I consider myself a chicago guy, i lived in IL 21/22 years of my life. i'm a cubs fan, so i didn't really care about the sox. and since the WS only have about 7 fans anyways...you get the picture.
but i do have a problem with those ratings. even though the two team were not the most popular or "sexy" teams, those were some great games played. down to the wire, great pitching, timely hitting, excellent defence. both teams. has anyone ever seen those rating boxes? do you know anybody who has one? i have never known anybody to have them, so how has one and where are they getting rattings from. just odd that nobody ever sees the "box" that records the ratings. doesn't seem like there are too many of them out there.

And here is why I HATE the ACLU... From FNC: Voters in Redlands, California will decide if the city should reinstate its seal featuring a church and a shining cross. The Redlands City Council had the seal covered two years ago after the ACLU threatened a lawsuit, which the city estimated would have cost $750,000 to defend. But outraged voters put the measure on Tuesday's ballot, saying Redlands' long-standing reputation as a "city of churches" gives the cross an historic significance. An ACLU attorney who tracks crosses on seals statewide said he's never seen a seal brought back by a citywide vote, adding it's "highly likely" the ACLU will file a lawsuit if the city reinstates the cross. So a city's citizens, angry over the removal of the city's seal vote to have it returned and the ACLU says it will file a law suit because it has a dipection of a church and a cross on it. THE PEOPLE VOTED TO HAVE IT BACK YOU MORONS!!!! So a people can only excercise thier civil liberties so long as the ACLU agrees with what they are doing? I say sue the ACLU for violating my civil liberties every time the file a suit like this. Actually I say burn them at the stake for what ever reason, make something up, I dont care.... now where did I stack all that wood....

It seems that more and more many of these organizations seem to forget that they are there to serve the people, not to tell the people how to live. I strongly disagree with the growing trend in this country to have to make constant and dramatic amends for things that have happened in the past. Attacking symbols that have been around for decades/hundreds of years is just unbelievable. Many of these symbols were chosen by our forefathers representing their founding ideas. THE PAST IS THE PAST! It is important to understand what these symbols meant and to learn from them. Wiping them from history denies many the lesson learned from our past and dooms us to repeat them. It also makes us look like we are trying to hide from our past. Things that happened in the past occurred during different times with different circumstances and different ideology. Things change but the past is the past. Some examples: The Stars and Bars, Indian mascots, Religious symbols displayed in government buildings, etc. End of rant...sorry if I offended anyone. These are just my thoughts on this topic for today.

the exact same thing happened to my home town, Zion, IL.
the city was founded in 1900 and was a religious city. thats where there are currently over 260 registered churches in a city with a population of 20,000.
Some guys from a City closer to chicago said the City Seal, which featured a cross, offened him. he had never been to Zion until be came to make his claims and protext the seal.
The city had to change becuase it would have cost too much to defend. so now they have to spend money changing street signs, and city cars with the old seal on it.
in Zion, every single Street which runs from north and south is named after a character from the bible. the center of the city if there the origional founding church sat, and the new one currently is. the property is surrounded by three streets making a circle representing the Trinity.
The guy had no beef with any of this, just the seal. its a shame that so few, can effect so many

And stuff like this is part of the problem being seen now in France. The complete absense of religion in a nation strips a group of their heritage. Religious tolerance is part of what this country was founded on. There is no state religion but, pratice of religion was encouraged by the founding fathers. In God we trust.

Bringing back an oldie but a goodie.... Tom DeLay's hopes for regaining his leadership post were dealt a severe blow Saturday when a judge put the congressman's trial on money-laundering charges on hold pending the state's appeal of the dismissal of another charge. ---------- I don't know what bothers me more here, the fact that the DA had to take several stabs at finding a Grand Jury stupid enough ti indict or that Delay thinks it's a good idea to try and get his job back. has anyone ever seen those rating boxes? do you know anybody who has one? i have never known anybody to have them, so how has one and where are they getting rattings from. just odd that nobody ever sees the "box" that records the ratings. doesn't seem like there are too many of them out there. A buddy of mine has one of those rating boxes. every member in his family is assigned a number. They are supposed to turn on the number(s) of the people watching TV. then every so often they have to hit a button on the remote that came with the rating box. Except he lost the remote , so every time the box starts blinking he has to get up and hit the button on the box, that is on top of the TV. A whopping 7 feet away . i cant remember how many people he represents, but its alot.
