12 straight nights of riots in France and now some surrounding countries(Belgium, Holland, Germany and the UK) make our own immigration problems look small....Here is something from the London paper Telegraph and something from MyWay news. The French Pres, Jacques Chirac, waited 5 days before speaking on the events unfolding every night in his country. Now with a curfew in place the riots should stop....NOT! Seems to me this is proof positive that the "welfare" state mentality many European countries have just isn't working.

Isn't that the truth. They critize us for not giving enough to the tsumani relief, even though we gave more than the muslim countries combined, the degrade us for our treatment of the poor and look what happens... from poor people in their own ghettos....

The riots are the boiling over of a simmering problem that has been building for some time in Socialist Europe. With the massive amounts of immigants and the belief that society should provide everything for everyone, it was only matter of time. I have been wondering how long it would take for this to spread beyond France. I think that many politicians in this country should take a serious look at the underlying causes and consider their positions towards the future of the good ole USA. When it comes down to it, moving to another country with more wealth, socialist government, etc.. will not solve all of your problems. The only way to improve your life is to work hard for a better life. Society cannot provide for everyone. You have to look out for your own welfare and that of your family.

Yes we are all (hopefully) quite aware of how every single other nation criticizes the US on every one of our problems and tell us how we can improve. Yet don't exactly do anything to help themselves. What I call the "muse-syndrome" it's where you can tell people all of their problems and how to fix them but you can't help your own situation.
For working on a better life. It's not just working hard(er). It's similar to here in the US actually. With immigrants from Mexico. They do the work that the people born in that country would never do. However when the work dries up nobody elsewhere will hire them! So there's all these 18, 20 year old youths that are just really really pissed off. Especially about how they are treated. Their elders tell 'em to calm down but they honestly don't care, rebelling youths are always there in every nation and all of time.
I'm honestly not all sure what to think of this situation. For one I dislike the French to begin with because of their attitude problems. But then again the place has so much history it'd be a shame to see some ancient structures burn down cuz of some pissed off kids. Plus even with everything already reported there's still probably a lot of unkown causes and catylists.

I think one of the problems is that they are given too much over there. They are given a home and welfare while living there, basicly stripped of self respect because they can't work and earn their own way(same problem here). Also they are far less accepted there than legal immigrants are here. These are not "border jumpers" rioting, these are French born immigrants. Children of peopel who moved to France the proper way but, they are looked down apon by the average Frenchman. If a person can't get a job to earn respect and if looked at like a lower class human this is the type of thing that is expected. And just like riots here, the only people really being hurt are those in their own communities.

Something that isn't being widely reported:
Fires are burning in 300 cities in France. Who are these "youths" that are rioting all night and growing even bolder (they are shooting at police and emergency service vehicles now) with every passing moment?
Muslims.
The whole thing started when two muslim youths ran from the police and tried to climb an electic fence at a power station... They ended up electrocuting themselves and now these young radicals, most of them muslims themselves, are out there trying to Sack France one city at a time.
If you haven't already, go to your local bookstore or to Amazon.com and find yourself a copy of The Politically Incorrect Guide to Islam and the Crusaides.
It goes a LONG way to showing you just the kind of people that the world is dealing with right now. Keep in mind that of the 27 odd armed conflicts being fought around the world tonight, 17 of them are being fought by people defending themselves against Muslim Extremists...

Hate to disagree Kreeper, but the electrocution of the two teens was the straw that broke the camels back. The French have been unable to deal with the rising disaprity between immigrants and the indigenous French and it finally came to a head when the electrocution of the two youths finally gave the lower classes something to rally for.
Also Muslim extremists really are just using Islam as a justification for their own vendetta's its more of a reflection upon the people rather than the religion.

While that may well be the case, those kids were the spark that lit the fires burning in France tonight... It may well be that they are only using Islam as a justification, but the facts speak for themselves.
Socialism = failure. Islamic Extremists = Potential Terrorists.
Mix the two in a combustable environment like the lower wrungs of the social ladder and they'll start riots, blow stuff up, kill people, etc... It's what these people have been doing for DECADES now.
